Could you place value someone that you’e only known for a year or two as much as someone you’ve known for 15-20 years? or longer?
Should time be a factor? When I think ‘value’, I relate it to a personal relationship as opposed to a professional one.
My answer lies in the following……Last year, during the worst time of my life I had the love and support of many friends….two in particular. One lives on the East coast and one on the West. They both put themselves at my disposal, for whenever I needed their support, in their own ways…as I flew cross country and back. One I have known almost my whole life and one, only 2 and a half years…..very different people and very different ways of showing me they cared. I believe there are no degrees of separation when it comes down to how long…it just depends on the content of the hearts.
